WHEN IS ORIENTATION?
O-Week begins on Sunday, August 16th with move-in and lasts throughout the week.
IS ORIENTATION REQUIRED?
Yes, all new undergraduate students to Rice University are required to attend O-Week.
WHAT WILL WE DO DURING ORIENTATION?
O-Week is designed to ease your transition to university life by introducing you to campus resources, providing you with many opportunities to meet other first-year students, and offering strategies to enhance your college experience. The week will be packed with a full schedule of activities designed to prepare new students for a successful beginning at Rice.
ARE MEALS PROVIDED?
Meals are provided through the Friday of O-Week, and regular service for the semester begins with Sunday lunch. No meal service is provided on the Saturday of O-Week.
IS THERE A FEE?
O-Week fees are included in your housing and tuition bill.
WHEN WILL I GET MY CLASS SCHEDULE?
You will register for classes on the Friday of O-Week.
WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FORWARD TO?
Having a lot of fun and meeting some terrific people!
IS THERE A PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAM?
New Families Orientation (NFO) is on Sunday, August 16, 2009, immediately following move-in. There is no charge for parents to attend NFO. Please note that all parents are asked to leave campus by 6pm on the August 16.
